Everything the styling videos assume you already own. Six pieces that cover parting, lift, edges, braiding and damping down — the small tools that make a style hold instead of collapsing by lunchtime.
What's in the kit
- Metal-pin tail comb — fine teeth one end, a slim steel pin the other. The metal pin parts far more precisely than a moulded plastic tail, which is what you want for braids, colour or any style that starts with a straight line.
- Teasing brush — dense bristles for lift at the root, without half a can of spray.
- Edge brush, dual-ended — soft bristles on one side for laying edges, a fine comb on the other for separating baby hairs at the temples and nape.
- Two hair loop tools, small and large — thread a ponytail back through itself for a topsy tail, or pull sections cleanly through a pull-through braid. The small one is for thin or fine hair, the large for thick.
- Continuous-mist spray bottle — a fine, even mist rather than a wet squirt. Most styles set far better on slightly damp hair than on dry.
Why a kit rather than one comb
Most people own a single comb and make it do five jobs badly. A wide comb won't part cleanly, a fine comb won't tease, neither will lay an edge, and none of them will damp your hair down evenly. Ten seconds picking the right tool saves ten minutes of fighting your hair — and a lot of breakage.
